R.I.P

Life takes on many journeys and we encounter so many people on these journeys and sometimes its hard to keep track of everyone. About two years ago I had the distinct privilege to meet an astounding young woman by the name of Khushal Dharamdass. We went on to perform together in "Temple In the Sea", "The Indian Arrival Day Re-enactment on Nelson Island" and "A Brighter Sun". In rehearsal she would be so quiet and pensive then come to life when it was her time to go onto the set.

Every time she came to rehearsal she greeted me with a smile and a hug. Even a few weeks ago we ran into each other on the way to rehearsal for "Sundar" and I was so busy I just said hello and went about my business. Two days ago I got a message saying that she passed away and my mind immediately flashed back to that moment when I was "busy".

Even as I type these words my heart is heavy ........... Khushal today I bid you farewell and I hope you are at peace.

WARM UP: Part 3

Warm ups are more than just workouts and vocals. Here we play two games that help with concentration and teamwork which are both needed when on stage.

WARM UP: Part 2

Its time for part two of warm ups. This time we look at some vocal exercises that help with enunciation and singing.

WARM UP: Part 1

Everyday at rehearsal we go through rigorous warm ups before we actually start rehearsing. It is important for us to be fit because to carry a show for two hours is not an easy feat. So here is a little peak into what a typical rehearsal day starts with.

FISH

Its normally very hard to impress me so it is with great pleasure that I share this wonderful piece of work. The 2012 Trinidad & Tobago Film festival saw the emergence of "Fish". A gritty yet captivating short film written and directed by Shaun Escayg. The film tells the tale of two homeless cousins as they do everything they can to survive on the streets of Port of Spain.

Jump Start Castings

As an actor its very important to find a way to be versatile thus trying new things is always a plus. So, when I heard about a casting call for a local television series I jumped at the opportunity because I've never delved into anything television related.
With that in mind I checked out the event page on facebook which had the following brief:

"Jump Start Castings is now searching for actors to fill lead roles in an upcoming TV Series. Filming in Trinidad. Male and Female talent, 18 and Over are welcome."

There was a link for an online form which I filled out and I waited with baited breath for ...... Audition Day. Check out the following pictures and video for an inside peek into how the audition went.
